Why are some things so difficult to improve?
A common theme of many of my conversations has been about working hard to improve something in our life and not seeing any progress, or seeing and feeling like a big improvement one day and then slipping back to the old “ways.”
It is common across all areas of life:
-
Relationships, personal and professional
- Unhappy at work
- Feeling unfulfilled
- Stalled in progress, growth
- Feeling stuck, losing hope
- Questioning whether anything at can be improved
- Unclear about your path
- Unable to achieve desired results
The questions we usually ask are: How can I change this? And if we tried everything and have not been able to achieve desired changes – What's wrong with me? Am I destined to live my life like this?
Why does this happen?
Three reasons:
1. We tend to process, analyze, “work on” things cognitively, intellectually.
We change our thoughts, work on our mindset, force ourselves to behave differently, try to talk to the other person or people (if the situation is about friction in relationships.)
Every event, situation, information is perceived by the primitive part of our brain either as a threat or as a reward. (That’s basic neuroscience.)
How we respond to that sense of threat depends on our individual beliefs and patterns that get formed through our life experience. (That’s psychology.)
These beliefs and patterns become the reference point for the logical mind on how and what to think, how to respond, how to solve challenges.
Mindset-change tools aim at overcoming these beliefs.
While these techniques are important and can be effective, they don’t work to improve situations we have been in for a pro-longed period of time or situations that have been emotionally very difficult.
This brings to the next reason.
2. The beliefs and patterns we form settle not only in the subconscious, but also as blocks of energy from both thoughts and feelings associated with thoughts, perceptions, and experiences with have. (That’s energy.)
When we try to change our thoughts and mindset, but deep down we don’t feel like what we are trying to think, and we store energies of self-doubt, unworthiness, failure, and other self-created limitations in both thoughts and how we feel,
Our mind and heart are out of harmony and do not experience the results we want no matter how hard we try.
What makes it even more difficult is the next reason.
3. We develop layers of feelings, conclusions, false perceptions about ourselves.
When we have been trying to improve a situation for a prolonged period of time and it has not been working the way we’d like or when we experience emotionally charged situation, we form multi layers of feelings, conclusions and false perceptions:
- Thoughts, feelings, conclusions, false perceptions while we are experiencing a situation.
- Thoughts, feeling, conclusions, false perceptions about this situation.
- If we are no longer in that situation, we form thoughts, feelings, conclusions, false perceptions while experiencing the consequences of that situation (mental and emotional impact on us.)
- Thoughts, feeling, conclusions, false perceptions as a result of trying to improve it and not getting anywhere.
So you see, besides the beliefs and patterns we are trying to change through thinking, we have deeply rooted energetic clusters that will prevent us from making the improvement we seek.
What we need to do is bring our mind, heart, and soul into harmony, by clearing the energetic blocks that got formed and stored in our body.
When we do, the feeling is surreal, exhilarating. I know this from my own experience and from what my clients experience with my guidance.
And from this place we elevate our inner state to be in alignment with our dreams and desires.
There is no quick fix in bringing our mind, heart, and soul into harmony. It is the most profound journey we can experience in life. There is no invisible magic to it, yet it feels like magic.
My teachings and coaching combine psychology and energy in powerful ways that help people achieve phenomenal results in short periods of time.
