Chapter 8. Welcome, August!

Welcome, August! August is the last month of the current season - summer in the Northern Hemisphere and winter in the Southern Hemisphere.

As the final stretch of summer, August carries the energy of ripening: the final accumulation of strength, vitality, and reserves before the journey into fall begins. It’s not a time to rush forward, but to lean into what’s already growing - with presence and trust.

This month invites you to reflect on the growth you've achieved not only tangibly, but internally as well. What has quietly matured in you over the last few months? What deserves to be honored, even if no one else sees it?

It’s a moment to tune into your vision for these last golden days:

- Where can you rest more deeply?

- Enjoy the warmth more fully?

- Add to the escrow of inner harmony and resilience?

August is not about pushing or rushing to get more into your summer days.

It’s about being presence, feeling fully, and deepening your growth.

And if you're in the Southern Hemisphere, August gently holds the closing days of winter - that sacred cocoon of restoration. There’s a sense of anticipation in the air - new growth is coming.

This too is a threshold: the final invitation to sink inward, get quieter and listen deeper to what's unfolding, what's ready to bloom, what's emerging.

Wherever you are in the world - and whatever season you're in personally - when we honor nature’s rhythms, it becomes easier to feel peace and joy, and to walk through life with clarity and focus.

It becomes easier to navigate instability or uncertainty, because we’re not resisting change - we’re moving with it.

A new month offers a beautiful opportunity for a reset - a clean slate.

Our emotional and mental systems intuitively understand the power of turning a page.

The end of one chapter and the beginning of another brings natural momentum for change, healing, or recommitment.

So let August be an invitation.

To soften your pace.

To pause in presence.

To listen to the heart and soul. 

To allow your inner world to emerge into the next phase of your journey.

To remember that you don’t need to chase the sun.

You are part of its rhythm.

Let’s review our key steps to start the month with a clean slate:

  1. Celebrate yourself.
    The little things and the big things. Not only the tangible accomplishments - celebrate how you felt, how you navigated the ups and downs. And if you don’t feel like celebrating, simply acknowledge how far you’ve come.

  2. Tune into your body.
    Notice how your mind feels, how your heart feels, how your body feels. Locate areas of tension, heaviness, contraction, or stress - in both your body and your headspace. Allow yourself to fully feel what you’re feeling.

  3. Release.
    Let go of the stress, the weight, the heaviness, the contraction. Don’t rush this part, your nervous system needs spaciousness to unwind.
  • Listen inward.
    What’s opening up in your soul, heart, and mind? What dreams, desires, or changes are calling to you now?

  • Gratitude.

    Write down what you’re genuinely grateful for, no matter how small. Gratitude is an amplifier of joy, presence, and possibility.


For a complete reset that truly creates the feeling of a clean slate, each step needs to be done both mentally and energetically, at the level of thought and feeling.

To engage the mind, use journal prompts and reflective questions. Write your responses by hand to deepen presence and clarity.

To engage the energy body, incorporate practices like guided breathing, visualizations, and intentional movement, such as swimming, floating, walking, or painting using the Bloomtica Art method.

Whenever possible, do these practices in nature to enhance grounding, renewal, and connection with your inner rhythm.

  1. What do you want to carry forward into Chapter 6 from earlier this year?
  2. What are you ready to leave behind or let go of?
  3. What would you love to experience or achieve in Chapter 6?
  4. Who is the version of you who has already achieved it?
  5. How would you love your journey through this month to unfold: easefully, joyfully, peacefully?


    Just like the reset, these visioning steps are most powerful when done both mentally and energetically, engaging your thoughts, emotions, and inner sense of alignment.

We had the opportunity for Anna to come out for a few team sessions at COCC. Most recently, she ran a mindfulness session for our entire HR team. It was a fantastic exercise for the team to break away from the day-to-day and go through a session together.
